COVID-19 Pandemic: A Day in the Life

Your stories, photos, videos or other artifacts will help future generations understand Marquette County during the pandemic.

About one year ago, NMU was forced to switch completely to remote learning due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Along with the Peter White Public Library and the Marquette Regional History Center, the university is seeking to collect and preserve the experiences of individuals, families, and organizations living and working in Marquette County as they continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Your contribution can be short or long, formal or informal, serious or funny. It can be a short descriptive paragraph, an essay, a diary entry, a link, a poem, a photo, a video -- anything.

Not sure where to start? Consider one of these prompts:

  • What are one or two ways that the last year surprised you?
  • To what extent did you change travel plans?
  • What photos represent your pandemic experience?
  • What is your vaccine experience?

You can submit stories to the site without making them public. People who submit items to https://lis.nmu.edu/pandemic can choose to make the files available to the public now or limit how they are shared.

If you have questions or want help submitting your story, please contact NMU Archivist Marcus Robyns (mrobyns@nmu.edu).
