Women's History Month

Commemorate women's contributions to society, culture, and history!

Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month!

Since 1981, the month of March has been dedicated as a time to celebrate the innumerable accomplishments of women throughout history and within contemporary society.

From those who have challenged gender norms, completed amazing achievements, or left a lasting legacy, there are stories of many women that are waiting to be heard.

Stop in the Lydia M. Olson library to view a physical display of books that highlight women from various cultures and backgrounds, as well as our featured electronic resources. Many of the books on the display include histories of Native American women and obstacles that they have faced within their lives. There are even books written by NMU alumni, Marquette locals, and Michigan women as well.

There is no better way to celebrate this historical month than to recognize and commemorate women's contributions to society, history, and culture.
