NEW Online Course Offered

AIS 373 Issues in Scholarly Communications and Information Literacy, by Mollie Freier

Librarian Mollie Freier will be teaching a new online class this fall. AIS 373 will help you:

  • evaluate your bibliography to check sources authored by women and people of color
  • look at scholarly communication hierarchies and the negative effect on publication rates for women and people of color
  • examine how algorithms demonstrate bias
  • understand the ethics of information use
  • learn about censorship

This class will apply to the Perspectives on Society requirement and is part of the Online Teaching Fellows program offered by the Center for Teaching and Learning.
