You ask, we answer! Let Lydia M. Olson Library help you find the information you need.
Lydia M. Olson Library wants to help you find the answers to all of your questions. These are real questions from real people. We're going to start with a big one - one we hear often, as a matter of fact.
"So, where are all the books?"
We're glad you asked! If you pass through the main floor of Olson Library, you might think there aren't a lot of books. Maybe you've seen our collection of K-12 books and thought, "Is that all?" While we are proud of our collection of K-12 books, which is indispensable for our Elementary Education students, as well as a great resource for children in our community, it isn't the whole picture.
Most of the books - our physical collection - are on the Upper Floor of Olson Library. There, you will find row upon row of books; old books, new books, books of every shape and size, and on subjects that students of NMU will find useful. We also have materials in storage and a wide selection of electronic resources. But if you're looking for all the books, they'll be on our Upper Floor.
The collection may seem a little intimidating if you don't have a lot of experience with libraries. But we're here to help! All you need to do is contact us, either in person at our Public Services Desk, or you can email, phone, or chat us. Find our contact information here. We're here to help, and love the opportunity to get you and the resource you need together.
In order to find the precise book you want, you'll need to find its location. That can be found by searching Olson Library's catalog. Stay tuned for another Ask Lydia Olson to find some tips for searching!

Lydia
