MeL media loan periods have been extended from 7 days to 14 days. Book loan periods have been extended from 3 weeks to 28 days with the option for a single 28-day renewal.

In addition, in January 2019, NMU entered a pilot program with MeLCat to help you keep material throughout an entire semester. All 15 public universities in Michigan are participating. If you borrow MeL material from another public university, your loan is 90 days with the option for a single 30-day renewal.

The extended loan periods do not apply to media loans.

It is an unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation, past and present, from across the English-speaking world, putting over 1000 years of English into context.

Anatomy.TV offers medically accurate, detailed renderings of human anatomy. Using real scan data, the models are built to offer a high degree of accuracy, with detailed 3-D models of all structures. Viewers can rotate models 360-degrees and add or remove anatomy layers. Anatomy.TV also provides links to text, dissections, clinical slides, diagrams, video clips, and MRI Scan images.

To access Anatomy.TV, head to library.nmu.edu and select “Find” on the menu, then scroll down to “Databases.”

Through January 10th, 2020, the Lydia M. Olson Library will be offering open use study rooms. Community members without an NMU ID are able to use select rooms until the start of classes.

Rooms are located on the library upper floor and do not require you to check-in at the front desk. All rooms offer a whiteboard. Select rooms contain a monitor with HDMI connectivity. We ask that you limit your use of a room to 2-hour time increments in case others are waiting.  

The Lydia M. Olson Library will be extending hours Friday, December 6 to Sunday, December 8, 2019 for your convenience! Hours are as follows:

December 6... 7:30 A.M.- Midnight

December 7... 9:00 A.M.- Midnight

December 8... 9:00 A.M.- Midnight
