Birds of North America

Provides detailed scientific information for each of the 716 species of birds nesting in the USA and Canada. Account contents are updated frequently, with online-coordinated contributions from researchers, citizen scientists, and designated reviewers and editors.

CQ Researcher

In-depth, non-biased reports on political and social issues, with regular coverage of topics in health, international affairs, education, the environment, technology and the U.S. economy.

Directory of Open Access Journals

A community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals.

Google Scholar

Journal articles, books, and other resources across many subjects. Provides a "cited by" feature to indicate other papers containing a source paper as a reference.

Highwire Press (Free Journals)

Many publishers who work with HighWire allow access to their content without a subscription. Take a look at a list of publications which offer free, full-text content.

Project MUSE - Standard Collection

An interdisciplinary collection of over 300 high quality, peer reviewed journals in the humanities and social sciences.

Sage Journals A-Z

Sage publishes journals in the social sciences, humanities, health, life and biomedical sciences and engineering.

Resources Available to Michigan Resident Alumni

Michigan eLibrary provides Michigan residents with free access to online full-text articles, full-text books, digital images, and other valuable research information. Databases are available for kids, adults, and on specialized topics such as car repair and practice tests. Below is a sample of the more than 50 resources offered.
