How do I place a hold or recall on an item?

Answer

Holds and Recalls

Holds can be placed on any item with the exception of bikes, lockers, equipment and reserve items. Holds will reserve an item for you as soon as the item is returned. Holds can be placed on items by viewing them in the catalog and selecting “Make a Request.”

Potential future service:
Holds can be placed on any item with the exception of bikes, equipment and reserve items. To place a hold, view the  item in the catalog and select “Make a Request.” If the item is currently checked out, the item will be held for you as soon as the item is returned. If the item is currently available, it will be retrieved for you and held at the Public Services Desk. You will be notified via email when the item is available for pick-up.

A recall will reset the due date for the item to five days from the date the recall was placed. Items are eligible for recall two weeks after the original check-out date or a renewal date. Fines for late recall items are double the typical rate. Recalls can only be placed by library staff.
