Library or Archives Research Award

The NMU Foundation is funding a $500 award for an undergraduate project that demonstrates use of resources from the Lydia M. Olson Library or the Central Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan University Archives. The award recipient will be announced during the Celebration of Student Scholarship.

The award committee will be composed of liaison librarians, the Director of the McNair Scholars Program, and instructional faculty appointed by the Dean of Library and Instructional Support.

Eligible projects should be submitted to the awards committee at researchaward@nmu.edu. Any scholarly or creative project produced by an NMU undergraduate that used resources from either the Olson Library or the Archives is eligible. The project must be accompanied by a brief (500-word) essay describing how resources from either the NMU Olson Library or the Archives were used in the project, and how this institution supported the work. The submission should be accompanied by a cover sheet signed by a faculty member who was involved in the project.

The deadline for future submissions has not been set at this time.
